Alibagh or Alibag falls under Raigad district in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, a picturesque coastal town with placid and pristine beaches flushed with warm and soothing Sun. It's a fantastic weekend gateway that you would love to grab when in Mumbai. Just 35 kms from the maximum city, Alibag is also a popular center for business conferences during the weekdays.

Nagaon Beach
About 7 km away from Alibag, Nagaon beach is uniquely famous for coconuts and betel nuts. And of course not to mention the loving expanse of surging Arabian Sea that make it so charming and captivating.

Kihim Beach
Hidden in the verdant dense cover of Coconut trees, Kihim Beach is a quite and secluded beach at a distance of 12 km from Alibag. With an excess of nature's bounty, Kihim beach is also famous for woods which are home to rare butterflies, birds and flowers.

Regions around Alibag has many more beaches to offer, you will have a great time exploring them at leisure and make the most of your trip down here. Among other beaches you have Awas about 16 km from Alibag, Saswane will take about 18 kms from Alibag. You could also wander around to Rewas, about 24 km from Alibagh. Mandwana is another hot target, about 20 km North of Alibag, the place has been abode to many of the Bollywood celebrities. Kashid Beach is about 30 km from Alibag and it falls on the Alibag-Murud highway.

Other than beaches you could also make the most of your trip to Alibaug by visiting places like Kolaba (or Kulaba) fort. Jutting from the middle of the sea about 1-2 km from the Alibag shore, the fort makes a captivating walk through the water during the fall when you could walk to the fort in waist-deep water. However, during the tide, boats need to be used.

You can also visit Kanakeshwar temple perched on a hill near Mapgaon village, about 12 km away from Alibag and falls on the way to Mandawa. If you love the smell of historic towns then you won't regret a visit to Chaul, situated about 15 km away from Alibag. It is famous for its Portuguese ruins, an old church, a synagogue, Buddhist caves, the Hamam Khana and a temple. About 20 km away from Alibag is Vikram Vinayak Temple or Birla Temple, Salav, you will also enjoy Janjira, the legendary fort situated not very far from Alibagh.

By Road
You can reach Alibag through Pen (124 km away). It is well connected with Mumbai and Pune.

By Rail/Train
The nearest rail railway station is Pen. You can get down at Pen and board a bus or taxi as per your convenience.

By Catamaran/Ferry
Mandawan is the nearest jetty and of course the original oldest one that is Rewas, which is built by British from where catamaran/ferry services are available to Gateway of India, Mumbai.
