The Shirdi Saibaba temple is located at Shirdi in
Ahmednagar district of Maharshtra. A seat of venerable Sai Baba, Shirdi
attracts millions of devotees from across faiths, castes, creeds, which
flock in here to pay their homage to Shri Sai Baba. The temple is
beautiful shrine that has been built over the Samadhi of Shri Saibaba.
Shri Sai Baba Sansthan has been managing Shri Sai Baba temple since 1922. The trust ensures that a strict code of conduct is maintained in the temple premises. Thursday is the day Saibaba is specially worshipped. On this day devotees from all over India visit Shirdi for Darshan of Saibaba. The Temple opens for devotees at 5.15am with Kakad Aarti and remains open till the end of Shejarti. The temple also holds special puja for the devotees across the globe, praying the deity on their behalf and sending the prasada to them. There are several places to see and visit in and around Shirdi. Some of them are as below: Samadhi Mandir The mandir has Saibaba's Samadhi over which his statue is built with pristine white Italian marble. Here Saibaba's statue is shown seated on a high throne. The idol was made by late Balaji Vasant. The routine of the temple starts at 5 o'clock in the morning with Bhoopali, a morning song, and closes at 10 o'clock in the night after Shejarati is sung. Only on three occasions the temple is kept open overnight - on Gurupoornima, Dassera and Ramnavami. Every Thursday and on each festival, a palkhi with Baba's photo is taken out from the temple. Dwarkamai Once a ruined mosque, Dwarkamai was turned by Saibaba into a seat of all faiths. It is said that Saibaba stayed here till the very end of his life, curing people's sickness and woriies. Gurusthan Gurusthan was built to commemorate the coming of Sai Baba in the form of Bal Yogi or a child ascetic. There is a shrine where a big portrait of Saibaba is placed on an elevated platform. Lendi Baug Lendi baug is a garden that is believed to be made by Saibaba himself. Baba used to come here every morning and afternoon and take rest under a Neem Tree. Khandoba Mandir Situated on the main road, Khandoba temple is believed to be the site where Saibaba was welcomed when he stepped in Shirdi. The temple has idols of Khandoba, Banai and Mhalsai. How to Reach Shirdi By Air The nearest airport is Aurangabad about 144kms away. The airport is well connected by all the major cities of India. By Rail/Train Nasik is the convenient railway station to reach Shirdi about 123kms away. You also get down at Manmad railway station about 60kms from Shirdi.
